About Randy Clinkscales
Randy Clinkscales is an elder care attorney practicing in Hays, Kansas. He is a 1980 graduate of Washburn Law School and founded his law practice in 1985. In 2004, Clinkscales Law Offices began its Elder-Centered Practice and in 2008 changed the name to Clinkscales Elder Law Practice. The practice focuses on issues facing our aging population, as well as the caregivers of those who are aging. Randy has authored a chapter in two books, “What You Really Need to Know for the Second Half of Life” and “Protect Your Family!: Don’t Write a Blank Check to the Nur$ing Home”, available at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. Randy authors a bi-weekly article for the Hays Daily News, with a circulation of over 10,000, where he writes about legal issues facing older adults and the benefits available to them. He also writes and publishes the Elder Law Update, a bimonthly newsletter sent to more than 3000 homes, health facilities and businesses; Elder Law Update for Health Care Professionals; Elder Law Update for Financial Professionals; and the Life Care Journal for his Life Care Planning clients. Randy is a former board member of the Life Care Planning Law Firm Association and former editor of its national newsletter, “Life Care Planning Law Firms Association News”.
He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and former president of the Kansas chapter. He is also a member of the Elder Law Section of the Kansas Bar Association and the past President of the Ellis County Bar Association (three terms). Randy presents seminars for continuing educational purposes to health care professionals, financial professionals and attorneys in the state of Kansas, as well as, seminars to the public.
The focus at Clinkscales Elder Law Practice is to help families with not only their current needs, but also help them plan for the future. The emphasis is on Life Care Planning. It is a holistic approach to assisting families dealing with chronic illness and other issues of aging.
Randy’s support staff includes two associate attorneys, one paralegal who specializes in Medicaid/Medicare, three legal secretaries, a Veterans benefit specialist, three health care professionals that assist clients with care coordination and consistently assess their life care plan, and an office coordinator.
